Assam: 4 JB College Students Expelled For Ragging

JORHAT: Another ragging incident has come to light following the shocking one that was reported at Dibrugarh University. According to the reports, the incident has come to light from a Jagannath Barooah College dormitory in the Jorhat district.

For allegedly ragging a younger student, four Syed Abdul Malik boys' dormitory residents were expelled by the authorities. After a junior student at the boys' hostel protested, the culprits were expelled.

Those that were expelled include Vikramaditya Bora, Akash Jyoti Saikia, Jintu Chetry, and Bishal Rongpi. Ankur Chaudang, a former resident of the boy's hostel, has also been forbidden from visiting the hostel grounds ever again.

Two members of the students' union were also terminated from their roles in relation to the ragging event. They go by the names of Sumit Rai and Vikramaditya Bora. Additionally, In relation to the event, the college's anti-ragging committee has warned three additional lads.

The junior student complained to the college administration about nine other pupils on November 30.

Notably, on November 27, Anand Sarma, a junior-year commerce student at Dibrugarh University, gravely hurt himself when he leaped off the second story of a hostel to escape a vicious assault by seniors carried out in the guise of ragging.

The entire state as well as the country is in a state of shock following the horrible ragging incident at Dibrugarh University, where a student was seriously hurt. The Supreme Court of India has completely outlawed ragging on educational campuses in order to create a just and peaceful environment.

As a result, Assam University recently published a notice outlawing all forms of ragging on its campus. One of the most terrifying problems affecting Indian higher education institutions right now is ragging. Following the tragic ragging episode at Dibrugarh University, Silchar Dental College has reported another incidence. Following a complaint from a few students, the authorities removed 14 pupils from the college.
